Finally it’s my turn to join in Bohemia Esprit Market’sDance of The Traveling Coat. Born from a desire to see more pictures from others already dancing in this Coat Sage, many photos will be posted as I twirl amongst this brown, purple, and bronze. Yes, the fading tire tracks are shown along with a copper grounding wire! There were two tears in the back and two tears in the front of the mailer. As you’ve seen and read, this Coat gets around!

As the Coat released, what a burst of energy, what glorious details from both Diana and Mara of dyeing, handwork, design, and attention to details (see the Coat Journal Mara made and included). Most contents in the photos are obvious. On a personal note, in the 8th photo the Coat is suspended from a copper Japanese rain chain where Mantles wait during their becoming–yes, that’s the front door to our home–long since locked and blocked into a part of my studio space–so if you visit us remember, only strangers knock on our front door!

Before lifting needles and beads, it feels important to honor the work of the hands that proceeded mine so here’s an Open Letter to Diana and Mara . . .

Greetings, Diana and Mara!

This Coat sings in deep harmonies of earth married to sky. The vision Mara caught of this Coat that Diana so richly designed and dyed pierced the intent of this Coat’s journey/mission through our hands and onward. And, yes, Mara, I’m agreeing with the design you intuited. I will join your work with mindfulness.

For several weeks now raku beads (color?–well, swirl all the coat colors together and there you have it, a PERFECT color CONNECT) and clear quartz freeform beads have been waiting for our turn.

Upon landing on my shoulders this Coat (Diana)/Wrap (Mara)/Magic Carpet (Kay) felt like an old trusted companion, familiar and welcome. Thank you, Diana and Mara for a wonderfully energized creative space to step into with needle, beads, ribbons, and wonder.

Kay

Now to the blood, sweat, and tears part! With this Coat’s history of disappearing I’ll proceed with caution, even USPS tracking reported “there is no such item recorded”~~~
